Genuine Pace is off to Scotland later for a long weekend in the freezing countryside. Today we look back on some of the fastest from north of the border. We start by looking at one for the future and our first Paralympian featured on Genuine Pace; 14 year old Maria Lyle from Dunbar.
Just a few years ago she was wearing splints to help her leg muscles. Today, she stands as a double European champion sprinter. The cerebral palsy sufferer clinched T35 100m gold earlier this year with a time of 14.96s. She’s a world record holder and with a time of 31.05 in the 200m, she now has her sights set on the 2016 Paralympics in Rio.
